Position OverviewAs an Assembler Technician I, you will support a broad range of mechanical and assembly activities in a dynamic, high energy, production environment in final assembly of the best rail vehicles in the world.
- Shift: Monday - Thursday, 5:30am - 4:00pm
- Build up and assemble units in passenger coaches such as roofs, cable harnesses, mounted parts, electrical racks, and panels, including air supply racks and piping assemblies.
- Apply adhesive, assemble, and align floor panels, windows, and door assemblies.
- Install mechanical components such as insulation, sidewall panels, seating, and luggage racks.
- Route and connect electrical wiring harnesses to final termination points and subassemblies.
- Disassemble, modify, rework, refurbish, reassemble components as required.
- Work from production blueprints, wiring diagrams, parts lists, wire lists, sketches and verbal instructions to produce electrical or electro‑mechanical subassemblies.
- Frequently required to use fine motor skills, assembling some small parts with excellent dexterity.
- High school education or state recognized GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing or similar environment such as electrical panel assembly, construction, automotive, or electrical service industries.
- Capable of basic written and verbal communication in English.
- Knowledge of reading blueprints, diagrams and various part lists is helpful.
- Frequently walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Frequently required to climb stairs, steps, and ladders.
- Frequently required to work on elevated platforms.
- Perform work overhead.
- Occasionally lift and move up to 40 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.

The hourly rate for this position in Lexington, NC is $17.00 – $20.91. The hourly rate may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
