Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

Pay rate $16/hr with a $1.00 shift differential

The Production Associate 1 employee at Cornerstone Building Brands Aperture Solutions is responsible for various windows & doors assembly operations while ensuring we safely make a quality product and minimize waste/cost, so it can be delivered on time to customers. Also, responsible for working with a sense of urgency while maintaining the flow of material throughout the plant by performing the following duties:

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Operate hand tools as required and assemble, lift, pick and pack products
  • Support and participate in Employee Engagement activities
  • Follow defined clean‑up times
  • Work in a safe manner and follow safe work practices and policies
  • Must follow and work to an established rate as defined by customer demand and standardized operations
  • Participate in defining and improving standard work to improve quality windows for customers
  • Identify problems; communicate issues
  • Assist with training co‑workers
  • Support a respectful workplace
  • Perform other duties across the plant as needed as directed by supervision or management
Qualifications

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Ability to read tape measures, fractions and decimals
  • Ability to read at least minimum word and number recognition/Visual Cues
  • Operate power tools with dexterity, basic operations, and knowing when to change PPE
  • Identify hazards while understanding station knowledge of safety hazards/protocols/PPE
  • Variations – having knowledge of measurement standards and tolerances
  • Follow instruction and Standard Work while frequently referring to Standard work instructions
  • Knowledge of product defects specifically to their workstation
  • Quality Recognition in station quality requirements/CTQ
  • Communicate Effectively by actively listening, explaining clearly & accurately, asking questions, sharing important info
  • Time Management and awareness of cycle times
  • Ability to wear required PPE – metatarsal shoes, arm guards, ear protection, and safety glasses
  • Dependability/punctuality & detail oriented
  • High school diploma is preferred
  • Ability to bend, squat, twist, push/pull, reach and stand is required
  • Ability to consistently lift at least 50 pounds, 8 to 12 hours a day is required
  • Ability to work in a hot & cold environment is required
  • Being able to work extended hours and weekends based on business needs is required
  • Willing & able to work various positions in various departments (cross‑trained) is required
  • Perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and stand for long periods is required
  • Able to comply with all company policies and procedures, including all safety regulations is required
  • Ability to follow supervisors’ instructions/directions as given is required
  • Possess the following skills: problem solving, teamwork, communication and initiative
  • Preferred knowledge of WTS Paradigm and various ERP functionality
