The Extrusion Supervisor is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations within the extrusion department to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality production of products. This position supervises production employees, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Supervise and direct extrusion personnel on assigned shift.
- Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Monitor extrusion processes and equipment performance to minimize downtime and scrap.
- Train, coach, and develop team members on work practices, safety requirements, and quality expectations.
- Conduct daily shift meetings and communicate production goals and performance metrics.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, performance management, and corrective action processes.
- Analyze production data and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, Material Handling, and other departments to resolve operational issues.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, OSHA requirements, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate production records and reports
- High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3–5 years of manufacturing leadership experience, preferably in extrusion or plastics manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety programs, and quality systems.
- Experience leading teams in a fast-paced production environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and production reporting systems.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, and lift within company guidelines.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and overtime as needed.
