Job DescriptionThe Operations Manager leads all technical aspects of extrusion operations, ensuring optimal process performance, product quality, and operational efficiency. This role partners closely with production and leads the maintenance, engineering, and quality teams to drive continuous improvement, reduce waste, and support safe, high-performing manufacturing operations.
- Lead extrusion process optimization, troubleshooting, and performance improvement across all lines
- Establish and maintain standard process parameters to ensure consistency and quality
- Analyze production data to identify trends and drive efficiency, yield, and throughput improvements
- Provide hands-on technical support during startups, changeovers, and operational disruptions
- Leads the Maintenance Team to improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime
- Lead Lean/continuous improvement initiatives, including scrap and cost reduction efforts
- Ensure processes meet internal quality standards and customer specifications
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process-related issues
- Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and new line installations
- Train, coach, and develop technical staff and operators to build capability across the team
First Shift - 6 AM - 2 PM
QualificationsRequired:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of extrusion manufacturing experience (plastics, vinyl, or similar)
- Strong understanding of extrusion processes, materials, and tooling
- Experience with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data and drive measurable improvements
Preferred:
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience
- Familiarity with ERP/manufacturing systems
