Position Overview
Emergency Department Nursing Assistant – Part Time (PRN) at Lexington Medical Center.
Essential Functions- Completes clerical duties for patient admissions and assembles medical records.
- Ensures complete, confidential, accurate, and timely communication of patient information.
- Handles and screens incoming calls, transmits messages as necessary.
- Communicates to the team, co‑workers, patients, and family members in an effective, positive, and professional manner.
- Contributes to a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment for patients, visitors, physicians, and co‑workers by following established procedures.
- Performs work in an organized, quiet, efficient manner and demonstrates ability to cope with stressful situations.
- Performs NA1+4 skills within the guidelines of the medical facility NA‑1 Enhancer Program.
- Provides or assists the patient with personal hygiene, comfort, and activities of daily living under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Completes assigned unit responsibilities and assists other staff members in the completion of their duties when time permits.
- Provides age/developmental appropriate patient care in accordance with Age/Developmental Specific Care Guidelines for the specific age groups served.
- Reliable, maintains a professional appearance.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Good computer skills.
- Performs effectively with frequent workload changes and competing demands.
- Knowledgeable of all patient level care (pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric).
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required; registered with the Division of Health Service Regulation.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or CPR required.
- High‑school senior or graduate (or equivalent) required; clinical experience preferred.
Frequent contact with patients, family members, visitors, and medical staff under a variety of circumstances; subject to moderate/high stress and multiple interruptions. Clean, well‑lit, comfortable climate. Possible exposure to blood‑borne and other infectious diseases.
Physical RequirementsLifting and carrying: up to 20 lbs regularly, up to 50 lbs occasionally, and up to 100 lbs if necessary. Requires standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, finger and hand dexterity, talking, hearing, and seeing.
Compensation and BenefitsPay range: $19.80‑$29.70 per hour. Benefits are available to full‑time employees, but part‑time benefits may be limited.
