The City of Lexington is seeking a Gas Technician Apprentice I,II, or III to join our team of utility professionals. This member of the crew is responsible for semi-skilled and/or skilled work in the construction, installation, maintenance and repair of the City’s N atural Gas facilities.

We will train entry level candidates, however experience in the natural gas industry is a definite plus.

• Valid NC driver’s license or valid out-of-state driver’s license with the ability to obtain a valid NC driver’s license within sixty days of employment and good driving record
• Valid NC driver’s license or valid out-of-state driver’s license with the ability to obtain a valid NC driver’s license within sixty days of employment and good driving record
• Valid NC Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) or valid out-of-state Class A CDL with the ability to transfer to NC Class A CDL within sixty days of employment and good driving record
• Four years of experience in skilled gas utility work
• Valid NC Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) or valid out-of-state Class A CDL with the ability to transfer to NC Class A CDL within sixty days of employment and good driving record

Monday
- Thursday 7:00AM - 5:30 PM OR Tuesday
- Friday 7:00AM - 5:30 PM. Paidbi-weekly.
Outside work in all weather conditions. On call rotation.

This position will remain open until September, 21st 2026 at 11:59 pm.
