Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM (Mandatory Overtime as Needed)
Job Summary:
We are seeking experienced Forklift Operators / Order Pullers to join a leading lumber distribution company in Lexington, NC. This position is responsible for accurately pulling customer orders, operating material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and maintaining a safe and organized warehouse and lumber yard environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pull lumber, building materials, and customer orders accurately according to load tickets and order specifications
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently
- Load and unload trucks while preventing product damage and ensuring order accuracy
- Assist with inventory control and product organization throughout the warehouse and lumber yard
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas at all times
- Perform daily forklift inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding orders and inventory
- Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and proper lifting techniques
- Work both indoors and outdoors as required by operational needs
Required Qualifications:
- Previous forklift operation and warehouse experience required
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds consistently throughout the workday
- Experience with inventory control and order fulfillment processes
- Ability to maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work under minimal supervision
- Team-oriented attitude and ability to work effectively in a close-knit team environment
- Must be willing to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Close-toe shoes required
- Must be available for mandatory overtime when needed
- Must meet background screening and drug screening requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified forklift operator
- Experience in lumber, building materials, or distribution environments
- Shipping and receiving experience
- Strong attention to detail and order accuracy
