Job Description
Our company is currently seeking a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our team!
We are a family-owned, full-service CPA firm located in Lexington, South Carolina. Our services include corporate tax, individual tax, bookkeeping, payroll, accounting, assurance, and consulting services. Our main focus is on small businesses and helping them navigate the financial stresses that come with owning and operating their own business. We pride ourselves on communication with our clients and being responsive in a timely manner while remaining personable, professional, and courteous.
This person will be responsible for providing high-level accounting, tax, and advisory services to our clients. During our busy season, you will take a lead role in tax preparation, review, and client communication. You will also assist in mentoring staff and ensuring quality control across engagements. We are a small business looking for someone who would like to grow with the company and play an integral role in our continued success.
We are looking for someone who takes pride and responsibility in their work, maintains a positive attitude, and is committed to ongoing professional growth. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working directly with clients.
Typical duties would include, but are not limited to:
- Preparation and review of individual and business tax returns
- Tax planning and advisory services for individuals and small businesses
- Reviewing bookkeeping and financial statements for accuracy
- Preparation and review of financial statements
- Researching and resolving tax and accounting issues
- Client consultations and year-round advisory support
- Assisting clients with IRS and state notices
- Oversight and mentoring of bookkeeping and accounting staff
- Participation in month-end and year-end close processes
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
- Active CPA license in good standing
- Candidates actively studying or testing for their CPA license are also encouraged to apply!
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations
- Experience preparing and reviewing individual, corporate, partnership, and S-corporation tax returns
- Comprehensive understanding of GAAP principles
- Experience with financial statement preparation and analysis
- Familiarity with tax research tools and professional tax software
- Experience working with multiple clients across various industries preferred
- Comfortable working with cloud-based accounting systems and secure client portals
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines, especially during busy season
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High degree of professionalism and discretion regarding confidential client information
- Willingness to collaborate with other CPAs, staff accountants, and clients directly
- Leadership mindset with the ability to mentor and support team members
