What you will do:
- Overseeing and administrating the agency's Corporate Income Tax Audit, Discovery/Nexus, and Individual Income Tax Audit functions
- Monitoring audit operations and performance, analyzing data, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality
- Analyzing complex tax issues, providing guidance and recommending solutions to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations
- Leading discussions with taxpayers, their representatives, agency staff, and other government agencies to resolve complex or controversial tax issues
- Assisting with the development and implementation of policies, procedures, strategic plans, performance measures, and other agency initiatives
A bachelor's degree in accounting, auditing, business administration, finance, or insurance and professional experience in accounting, auditing, finance, insurance, or tax preparation or analysis (transcripts required). Academic degrees must be from an accredited institution of higher learning.
Additional Requirements:
- A valid driver's license
- Ability for statewide travel with occasional overnight stay
- CPA or advanced degree in business, taxation, government administration, or organizational leadership
- Eight or more years of experience in accounting or auditing, four years of which must have been in a management capacity
