- Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and industry standards
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
- Proficiency in quantity takeoffs and cost estimating
- Experience preparing bids, proposals, and cost breakdowns
- Skilled in evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotes
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy in calculations
- Proficiency with estimating software (HCSS, B2W, Timberline, Bluebeam, etc.)
- Advanced Excel skills for cost modeling and data analysis
- Understanding of labor, equipment, and material cost structures
- Familiarity with construction codes, permitting, and safety regulations
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with engineers, project managers, and subcontractors
- Ability to manage multiple bids and meet strict deadlines
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to conduct site visits and assess field conditions
- Knowledge of production rates, scheduling, and construction sequencing
- Experience in heavy civil, utilities, earthwork, or infrastructure projects (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in civil or construction estimating
- Proven experience with heavy civil, earthwork, utilities, or infrastructure projects
- Ability to perform accurate quantity takeoffs and cost analyses
- Proficiency with estimating software such as HCSS, B2W, Timberline, or similar tools
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and project documents
