Position Overview
The Town of Lexington is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Field Inspector in the Utilities Department.
Responsibilities- Inspects new and existing water lines, sewer lines, storm drainage lines, streets, and sidewalks to ensure they are installed in accordance with state and Town specifications and regulations.
- Performs related technical work as required.
- Reports to the Director of Utilities and takes direction from the Inspector and Engineer.
- Performs related general and technical work as required (essential personnel).
- High school diploma or GED; a technical college diploma in surveying, drafting, construction inspection or related field is preferred.
- Water/wastewater system construction and/or construction inspection experience is preferred.
- Must be able to complete and retain various training and certifications, including asbestos O & M facility worker license, CPR/First Aid certification, competent person/confined space entry certification, traffic safety, etc.
- Must possess a valid class D South Carolina state driver’s license.
