Position PurposeServes the Cooperative and its members as a resource in energy use, renewable resources, and home weatherization. Promotes the Cooperative's services and energy-related programs to members. Is the Cooperative's expert on appliances, equipment, and systems that control energy use and is able to provide and implement solutions to benefit the member. Establishes and develops positive relationships with residential and commercial members and maintains mutually beneficial relationships with trade allies.
Skills& Abilities
- Strong mathematical skills
- Comfortable working with components of electricity and identifying hazards
- Proficient use of volt and amp meters, as well as general construction, electric and hand tools
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office programs:
Word, Excel, and Power Point - Excellent oral and written communication skills, including spelling, grammar, and composition
- Professional presentation skills
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe, courteous manner in accordance with all applicable traffic laws
- Ability to work independently or with others
- Technical knowledge of residential/commercial heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems
- Residential and commercial building and construction materials, methods, structures, and terminologies
- Principles and processes for providing customer service, including customer needs assessments, quality service standards, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- Experience working in or with the electric utility, HVAC, electrical, or construction industry, or comparable environment
- Experience dealing with customers and/or resolving conflicts
Education:
AS in Electrical or technical field of study Desired Job Experience
- Associate Degree in Electrical or technical field of study
- A minimum of five years related experience preferred
- Construction/HVAC/Electrical
- Energy Auditing Certification strongly preferred
- At least 18 years of age
- General residency requirement
- South Carolina driver's license with a maximum of four (4) points
- Available for overtime as assigned and/or required
