Alpha Gov is seeking a Municipal Classification & Compensation Consultant to lead the civilian-workforce workstream on an active municipal classification and compensation study (City of Myrtle Beach, SC — proposal due early October 2026).
What you'll do:- Lead the civilian-workforce classification structure review (approximately 270 titles)
- Develop civilian pay-grade recommendations and implementation options
- Conduct market benchmarking versus peer municipalities
- Present findings to project leadership and contribute to client-ready study deliverables
- Contribute municipal class/comp leadership qualifications and past-performance narrative to Alpha Gov proposals when permissioned

- Municipal classification and compensation study leadership experience
- Public-sector HR consulting background
- Comfortable as a 1099 / project-based collaborator with travel as needed for client on-sites

- Presentations to Boards, Councils, or elected officials
