Salary: $20-$23+/hour (Negotiable, DOE) plus benefits.
Job Summary
The ideal candidate will assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring smooth daily operations in our pharmacy. If you are passionate about patient care, accuracy, and working in a collaborative environment, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities- Assist pharmacists in accurately preparing and dispensing medications.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, answering questions and addressing concerns about prescriptions and over-the-counter medications.
- Enter prescription information into pharmacy software and process orders.
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment, including stocking shelves, managing inventory, and ordering supplies.
- Handle payments and insurance claims, including resolving insurance issues and processing claims electronically.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to ensure accurate and timely prescription fulfillment.
- Follow all pharmacy regulations and compliance standards, including maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
- Monitor inventory levels, check for expired products, and manage reorders to keep supplies well-stocked.
- Operate pharmacy equipment and technologies, including cash registers, medication counters, and automated dispensing systems.
- Assist with medication therapy management (MTM) and patient adherence programs as needed.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a certified pharmacy technician program preferred.
- Valid Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) is preferred.
- State pharmacy technician license is preferred.
- Prior experience in a retail pharmacy setting is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with pharmacy management software (e.g., Pioneer Rx, McKesson, or similar) is a plus.
