Position OverviewThe Processing Manager is responsible for leading the team that prepares merchandise for the sales floor. This role owns processing execution, quality control, training, and consistency, ensuring that inventory is processed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards.
This is a leadership role, not a production-only position. The Processing Manager sets expectations, monitors performance, and ensures the processing department runs smoothly without relying on constant oversight from ownership.
Key Responsibilities Processing Execution & Quality- Oversee daily processing operations to ensure accuracy, consistency, and efficiency
- Assign processors to categories and tasks based on priorities
- Ensure correct condition grading, reductions, labeling, and cart completion
- Identify and correct errors promptly
- Own the department’s quality control program
- Review QC results and trends to prevent repeat errors
- Ensure retraining occurs when accuracy issues arise
- Train new processing staff on procedures and standards
- Provide ongoing coaching and skills development
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date processing documentation and training materials
- Track processor productivity and accuracy by category and individual
- Address performance issues early and professionally
- Escalate ongoing issues through proper channels when needed
- Maintain organized, clean, and efficient processing areas
- Ensure carts, tables, and supplies are managed effectively
- Work closely with Operations and Sales leadership to support inventory flow and floor needs
- Communicate clearly when execution issues or constraints arise
- Prior experience leading a team in a warehouse, processing, retail operations, or similar environment
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Ability to train, coach, and hold team members accountable
- Comfortable working with performance metrics and process standards
- Organized, calm under pressure, and consistent in leadership approach
The Processing Manager ensures that product reaches the sales floor sell-ready, accurate, and consistent. Strong processing leadership directly impacts customer experience, efficiency, and overall store performance.
ScheduleTypically Monday-Friday 8:45am - 5:15pm. May include some weekends or evenings.
CompensationCompetitive salary with paid holidays and PTO.
