SENIOR GROUNDSMAN 2 — TREE REMOVAL/SERVICES GROUND CREW Role / Purpose

Senior Groundsman 1 serves as a lead ground technician, supporting climbers and helping guide less experienced crew members while maintaining high safety and productivity standards.

• Lead brush and cleanup operations
• Operate chipper as primary ground operator
• Assist with rigging operations and load control
• Direct ground crew movements during cutting operations
• Train and mentor entry-level groundsmen
• Assist with traffic control setup and teardown

• Enforce PPE compliance on the ground
• Monitor drop zones and communicate with climbers
• Identify hazards and correct unsafe behavior

• Chainsaws (ground use)
• Chipper (lead operator)
• Rigging equipment (support role)

• Set example for new hires
• Strong communication and situational awareness
