Welder; 2nd shift

Job Summary

Assembles and welds shells, rings, and feet for generators, corrects settings on welders, inspects quality, performs TPM tasks, and provides other job duties as assigned.

• Assemble and weld shells, rings, and feet for generators.
• Place stator core on mandrel and assemble shell and rings.
• Gauge height and tack weld together.
• Assemble and weld feet to frame and core assembly.
• Correct settings on welders—including speeds, feeds, and proper setup of product to be welded.
• Inspect quality of material being welded to prevent rework.
• Perform MIG welding.
• Protect other employees from flash of arc; wear welding hood, gloves, and other protection as required.
• Exercise good housekeeping in work area.
• Observe good safety practices in performance of job.
• Perform daily/weekly TPM tasks and complete check sheets.
• Perform other job duties as assigned by supervisor or team leader.

• Must be able to read complicated drawings and decimal dimensions on blueprints, utilize precise measuring devices and use to perform own setups.
• High School Diploma or GED Required.
