Accountant, Financial Reporting, Cost Accountant

Full time role based in Lexington, North Carolina (27292), United States. Symbiotic Services is recruiting on behalf of a confidential manufacturing client.

Position: General Manufacturing Accountant

Summary:

Support two manufacturing facilities with general ledger, fixed asset, and inventory accounting. Ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and alignment with operational and financial objectives.

• Perform cost accounting activities within a manufacturing environment.
• Participate in the month-end close process, including preparing and posting monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries.
• Analyze financial data and perform account reconciliations, including:
  • Trend analysis
  • Work-in-process (WIP) analysis
  • Detailed general ledger account reconciliations
• Support quarterly and annual audits by responding to auditor requests and providing required documentation.
• Extract and prepare financial data for internal and external tax reporting and other required schedules.
• Maintain accurate financial records while ensuring compliance with internal accounting controls.
• Manage fixed asset accounting for both book and tax purposes, including:
  • Acquisitions
  • Transfers
  • Assets placed in service
  • Retirements
• Participate in physical inventory activities, including cycle counts and fixed asset inventories.
• Reconcile inventory balances and record adjustments for raw materials, fixed assets, and other inventory accounts.
• Assist with process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, and special projects as assigned.

  Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Required Experience: 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with cost accounting.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience using ERP/accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet aggressive deadlines.
