Job Description & How to Apply Below

Company Description PMI is a full-service industrial contractor specializing in custom fabrication, process piping, machinery installation, structural steel, and field services. Since 1991, PMI has delivered high-quality industrial solutions with a commitment to quality, safety, and a sense of urgency. We proudly serve the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and chemical industry, providing focused craftsmanship and reliable execution nationwide.

Role Description The Site Superintendent/Site Project Manager is a full-time role, responsible for overseeing daily construction and mechanical installation activities at project sites. This Senior on-site manager is responsible for overall site execution, safety leadership, schedule and budget adherence, subcontractor and client coordination, and successful project delivery from mobilization through turnover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own daily site operations and execution plans: coordinate mobilization, resource assignments, material staging, and logistics to keep schedule and milestones on-track.
  • Develop and maintain the site schedule in coordination with Project Management; proactively identify and mitigate risks and delays.
  • Lead the site safety program — conduct/site inspections, lead weekly toolbox talks, facilitate contractor safety committees and enforce PMI and regulatory safety standards.
  • Promote PMI’s culture of shared responsibility and routine safety checks.
  • Supervise, mentor and evaluate Foremen and field leads; enforce quality expectations and drive continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with design/engineering and shop teams for RFIs, revisions to shop drawings, and constructability resolution; manage change order documentation when necessary.
  • Manage subcontractor scopes and performance; ensure field compliance with ASME/industry stamps when applicable and coordinate special processes (e.g., sanitary welding, blasting/surface prep, galvanizing coordination).
  • Monitor site costs, labor productivity and schedule impacts; report status to Project Management and elevate budget or schedule risks.
  • Serve as the primary on-site contact for clients, inspectors and local authorities; maintain professional client relationships and ensure smooth inspections/acceptances.
  • Prepare and approve daily/weekly progress reports, site diaries, punch lists and closeout documentation for turnover.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years construction/industrial experience with a minimum of 3 years in a superintendent or senior supervisory role on multi-trade industrial projects.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering projects in process industries (food & beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical) and familiarity with sanitary systems, process equipment installation, and structural/fabrication interfaces.
  • Advanced ability to read and review shop drawings, P&IDs, isometrics and contract documents.
  • Strong leadership, scheduling, and stakeholder-management skills; proven ability to coordinate multidiscipline crews and subcontractors.
  • Proficiency with project documentation and site reporting tools (Procore, MS Project or equivalent preferred).
  • Valid driver’s license; willingness to work extended hours during critical phases.

Preferred / certifications

  • OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR.
  • Prior exposure to ASME R/PP/U stamp requirements or experience coordinating work requiring those stamps.
  • Experience with ANSI tubing welding requirements or direct experience working with certified welders in sanitary systems.

Performance indicators

  • Project schedule adherence, budget variance control, safety record and incident reduction, quality (punchlist closure rate), and client satisfaction.
