Physical Requirements Lift, push, pull, stand and walk with objects up to 50 pounds, sit for extended periods of time, repetitive motion, walk across campus, occasional extreme temperature and able to climb stairs.
Shift Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, may be needed to work nights and weekends to meet departmental needs.
Job SummaryThe University of Kentucky is seeking a Housing Assignments Coordinator to support the Graduate and Family Housing Office by managing apartment assignments, housing applications, contract administration, and resident services.
The coordinator serves as a primary point of contact for current and prospective residents, providing responsive customer service and clear communication regarding housing policies, procedures, and deadlines. The role also supports data integrity through regular records management while collaborating with campus partners to coordinate specialized housing placements and accommodations.
What You Will Do- Process housing applications, assignments, contract changes, and occupancy updates using the Star Rez housing management system.
- Ensure housing records, billing information, eligibility requirements, and assignment data are accurate and maintained in accordance with university policies and procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service by responding to resident inquiries via phone, email, and in-person interactions while clearly communicating housing policies, deadlines, and processes.
- Assist with move-in and move-out processes.
- Coordinate specialized housing placements and accommodations with university departments while maintaining confidentiality.
- Contribute to special projects and operational improvements across Graduate and Family Housing.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with residents and campus partners.
- Experience working with databases or housing management systems, such as Star Rez, or the ability to quickly learn new technologies.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion while exercising sound judgement in a customer focused environment.
