The Department of Philosophy at the University of Kentucky invites applications for a Full Time Instructor (FTI) beginning August 1, 2026. The successful candidate will teach eight courses per year (four per semester) at the undergraduate level. The AOS and AOC are open. The department has particular needs in Introduction to Philosophy, Introductory Logic, Introduction to Ethics, Food Ethics, Health Care Ethics, Business Ethics, and Environmental Ethics.
This is a temporary non‑tenure‑eligible nine‑month appointment that will begin in August 2026 and end in May 2027. The UK Philosophy department is pluralistic and open to a wide range of approaches in philosophy.
Teach eight undergraduate courses per year (four per semester). Assist with student support and academic advising as needed. Participate in departmental meetings and activities as required. Contribute to curriculum development and assessment.
