Job Summary
The Environmental Technician II provides detailed housekeeping services within assigned areas, including patient discharge rooms and ancillary spaces. This role serves as a preceptor and resource to Environmental Technician I staff, supporting training, orientation, and quality standards. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work in fast-paced and high-acuity areas, and adherence to safety and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Provide detailed housekeeping services in assigned rooms and project areas according to established policies and procedures
- Clean discharge rooms and ancillary spaces following proper guidelines and documentation requirements
- Serve as a preceptor for routine training and orientation of staff members
- Act as a resource person to Environmental Services staff and assist with complex cleaning challenges
- Complete special cleaning projects in a timely manner
- Work effectively in fast-paced and high-acuity areas such as emergency, operating, labor and delivery, and procedure areas
- Clean, maintain, restock, and properly store Environmental Services equipment
- Deliver high-quality customer service and respond professionally to inquiries and requests
- Communicate with leadership and clinical staff regarding room status and cleaning needs
- Utilize tracking systems as required to monitor room readiness and bed status
- Report safety hazards or defects to leadership promptly
- Follow safety and regulatory guidelines for chemical use, equipment handling, and proper waste disposal
Education: High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
Experience: Minimum one year of healthcare housekeeping experience or similar industrial housekeeping experience required
Licensure/Certification: None required;
National Executive Housekeeper Certification desirable

- Ability to communicate effectively and read written materials
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to teach cleaning processes and techniques to others
- Knowledge and ability to perform all cleaning tasks required of an Environmental Technician I
