Overview
The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and supervising the custodial operations within the organization. This role involves leading a team of custodial staff, ensuring that all cleaning and maintenance tasks are performed to the highest standards, and maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. The Custodial Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining the overall appearance and hygiene of the facility, contributing to a positive experience for all occupants and visitors.
Responsibilities- Collects and disposes of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
- Dust and damp mops floors following approved procedures.
- Moves equipment and furniture for proper cleaning and places furniture back in correct placement.
- Cleans assigned areas with the use of assigned materials and equipment. Sanitize all surfaces. Follows the eight‑step cleaning procedure.
- Washes walls, windows, furniture, baseboards and other items to maintain a clean, safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.
- Seeks out areas requiring cleaning; takes initiative to complete the task.
- Completes all tasks assigned by supervisor.
- Performs tasks in accordance with all federal, state and county guidelines.
- Strips, scrubs, buffs and refines floors; shampoos carpet.
- Contributes to the team; exhibits professionalism with customers, fellow employees and others.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- The role primarily involves working within facility interiors, including offices, restrooms, and common areas. The candidate must be comfortable with exposure to cleaning chemicals and the physical demands of custodial work.
- This role may require working from stairs, ladders or elevated platforms.
- This is an essential position which may require work during inclement weather, evenings, holidays and weekends.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Ability to operate custodial equipment, such as buffers and vacuums.
- 1-year Janitorial Experience.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks like lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization with a keen eye for detail.
- Efficiently manage time to complete tasks within designated schedules.
- Basic communication abilities to understand instructions and work effectively within a team or with supervisors.
- Familiarity with various cleaning methods, chemicals, and equipment used in custodial work.
- Understanding and implementing safety guidelines when handling cleaning agents and operating equipment to prevent accidents.
- Punctuality and consistency in completing assigned tasks.
- Ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds.
- Exposure to cleaning agents and dust.
