Position Overview

As a Material Handler, you will support a broad range of activities in a dynamic, high‑energy warehouse environment providing all material to production departments for manufacturing the best rail vehicles in the world. This role focuses on the receiving, put away, picking, kitting, or delivery of material to production. Additionally, the role may focus on the interaction with the MRP system for accurately tracking the material movements.

Daily

Responsibilities
  • Follow all safety requirements, including use of all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment.
  • Receive, put away, pick, kit, or deliver material to production as required.
  • Ensure transactional accuracy for all material movements – ensure correct quantity of material is moved to the specified location and MRP system transactions are completed correctly.
  • Use appropriate labels and part numbers to properly identify all material.
  • Handle material carefully to prevent damage during handling in the warehouse or delivery to production.
  • Immediately notify supervisor of any quality or delivery issues.
  • Operate powered industrial vehicles (e.g., crane, forklift, order picker, scissor lift, fall protection equipment) as required.
  • Meet production schedule for material delivery to production.
  • Explain warehouse procedures and processes to fellow workers.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years of previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Basic English skills – ability to read and understand written instructions and effectively communicate verbally.
Preferred
  • Previous warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous Powered Industrial Vehicle certification.
Physical Demands
