Position Overview

CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) – Part Time. Employment Status:
Part time. Shift: Any Day, Any Shift (United States). Facility: 1 Health Cir – Lexington. Requisition Number: R159857.

The certified registered nurse anesthetist plans and administers anesthesia and related care to patients upon request by patient's physician to facilitate diagnostic, therapeutic, surgical, or obstetrical procedures, according to the standards and principles of anesthesiology. The CRNA develops a plan of anesthesia care for patients of all ages in coordination with an anesthesiologist or the patient's physician, implements and adjusts the anesthetic plan for patients to adapt to the patient's response, documents response to the anesthetic in a complete and accurate manner, ensures safety of patients during anesthesia and during transfer to other qualified health care providers, and collaborates with and directs other health care personnel related to anesthesia care.

• Plan and administer anesthesia and related care to patients for diagnostic, therapeutic, surgical, or obstetrical procedures.
• Develop anesthesia care plans for patients of all ages in coordination with anesthesiologist or patient's physician.
• Implement and adjust anesthetic plans in response to patient condition.
• Document anesthetic response accurately and thoroughly.
• Ensure patient safety during anesthesia and during transfer to other qualified healthcare providers.
• Collaborate with and direct other healthcare personnel related to anesthesia care.

• Education: Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing and a Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs (COA) accredited school of nurse anesthesia education.
• Experience: None.
• Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner‑Nurse Anesthetist in the State of Virginia;
  Current certification or recertification as an active, practicing nurse anesthetist by NBCRNA;
  Current American Heart Association (AHA) approved BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
