• Provides professional nursing care to patients across all age groups, supporting patient‑centered care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure safe, effective, and high‑quality patient outcomes.
• Coordinates individualized patient care delivery for patients of all ages.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care to achieve optimal outcomes and documents age‑specific assessments supporting care plans.
• Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans.
• Administers treatments and medications accurately and documents care in electronic medical records.
• Identifies and addresses patient and family education needs.
• Participates in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
• Advocates for patients and supports their rights and psychosocial needs.
• Applies knowledge of growth and development to provide age‑appropriate care.
• Demonstrates clinical expertise in dynamic and changing care environments.
• Implements strategies to improve patient outcomes and resource utilization.
• Serves as a role model and supports the development of peers and team members.
• Manages resources, prioritizes tasks, and adapts to changing patient care needs.
• Supports orientation and training of new employees.
• Uses problem‑solving skills to address patient care and operational challenges.
• Provides feedback and participates in shared decision‑making activities.
• Supports education activities within the department.
• Maintains confidentiality and complies with regulatory and organizational standards.

• Graduate of a state board of nursing approved program (required).
• Current Registered Nurse license in Virginia required or eligibility to obtain licensure (required).
• AHA BLS‑HCP required; ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.
• Keyboarding skills and computer literacy required, including use of electronic medical records.

• For behavioral health roles, ability to safely manage disruptive or potentially violent patients.

$33.52–$50.28 per hour. Pay is based on qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The range does not include benefits or pension plan.
