Technical Project Specialist II (Project Manager II)

Location

Lexington, KY; primarily remote

Job Summary

The College of Public Health’s Center for Public Health Analytics and Informatics is seeking a Technical Project Specialist II to coordinate project activities, synthesize findings, and ensure high‑quality execution across a portfolio of Kentucky public health analytical programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensuring project activities align with broader program goals
  • Tracking milestones, risks, dependencies, and cross‑project interactions
  • Synthesizing findings across research efforts to identify gaps, risks, and dependencies
  • Coordinating communication, responsibilities, and deliverables across multidisciplinary teams
  • Supporting timeline management and producing data‑driven reports
  • Documenting decisions, action items, and technical requirements during meetings
  • Assisting leadership with strategic decision‑making and program adjustments
Core Qualifications
  • Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of public health, health policy, or health services research
  • Familiarity with data use agreements, IRB protocols, and project management practices
  • Experience documenting technical requirements and synthesizing complex discussions into clear summaries and next steps
  • Experience working on state, public sector, or multi‑agency projects
Work Environment

This position is primarily remote, with occasional in‑person meetings in Lexington, KY or Frankfort, KY.
