On Call HGV Waste Water Operative

Established in 2013, Sapphire Utility Solutions rapidly became a leading partner for clients across the UK in clean water, wastewater, gas, multi‑utilities and highways.

Reactively attend emergency call‑out jobs for United Utilities in the North West using either a JHL Recycler or a JHL City Flex. HGV Class 2 licence is required and experience of jetting is essential; training will be provided.

On‑call shifts run 16:00–02:00 for six days a week with one paid rest day each week. Applicants will be paid for 70 hours per week, including the rest day.

Leyland, Lancashire.

Salary:
Base up to £49,722 per annum (dependent on experience) with OTE of £50,000+ including call‑outs.

• Investigate and assess works that need to be conducted.
• Identify issues and implement suitable resolutions.
• Use jetting machinery to ensure public safety and clean blockages.
• Cover work across the United Utilities network in the North West.
• Communicate with customers about upcoming works, timelines and address concerns.
• Inspect drainage systems to identify blockages, leaks or damage.
• Execute high‑pressure water jetting on drains, sewers, pipes and other wastewater systems.
• Perform CCTV inspections where required to assess condition of underground pipes.
• Operate electronic devices (laptop/tablet) for data entry.
• Report safety issues in line with company procedures.
• Perform routine maintenance and servicing of high‑pressure jetting equipment.

Full training will be provided in Jetting, SLG, First Aid, Manual Handling and Confined Spaces.

• Previous experience in a reactive role desirable but not essential.
• Drainage knowledge (not essential).
• HGV Class 2 licence with no more than 6 points on licence.
• Competence in using machinery in compliance with safety standards.
• Training will be provided.
