For the school year, the candidate will be responsible for teaching first grade, implementing district‑adopted curriculum, and supporting the district’s educational mission.
Benefits include an up to $5,000 sign‑on bonus and an annual stipend bonus of $500.00 for Kansas ESOL‑licensed employees.
Qualifications- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Valid Kansas Teacher’s Certificate with appropriate endorsement.
- ESOL Endorsement preferred.
- Professional verification of successful classroom teacher performance and/or student teaching experience.
- Communicate high expectations to all learners.
- Incorporate appropriate use of technology.
- Effectively implement the district‑adopted curriculum.
- Develop lesson plans with effective lesson design.
- Use a variety of informal and formal assessments routinely.
- Administer standardized tests in accordance with district testing protocol.
- Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve effective participation.
- Maintain up‑to‑date records of student progress.
- Create a positive, inviting, and safe learning environment.
- Communicate effectively and promote positive interpersonal relationships.
- Support the District’s educational mission for all students and implement all Board regulations and policies fairly and equitably.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as the principal or superintendent may assign.
Salary and work year will be determined in accordance with the Professional Agreement and approved by the U.S.D. #480 Board of Education.
EvaluationPosition performance will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the U.S.D. #480 Board of Education policies.
