- Plan and deliver engaging, standards‑based English Language Arts instruction aligned with district curriculum and Kansas College and Career Ready Standards.
- Teach reading, writing, speaking, listening, language, and vocabulary skills using research‑based instructional practices.
- Foster critical thinking through literature analysis, informational text, writing, discussion, and inquiry‑based learning.
- Create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and academic growth.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the academic, social, emotional, and developmental needs of all learners.
- Utilize instructional technology to enhance student learning and communication.
- Monitor student progress through formal and informal assessments and use data to guide instructional decisions.
- Maintain accurate student records, grades, attendance, and required documentation.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom expectations.
- Collaborate with grade‑level teams, interventionists, special education staff, instructional coaches, and administrators to support student success.
- Foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues while promoting a culture of respect, responsibility, and high expectations.
- Supervise students during instructional and non‑instructional times.
- Participate in faculty meetings, Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), professional development, and school improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Principal.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Valid Kansas Teaching License.
- Demonstrated successful classroom teaching experience.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and instructional practices.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, organization, and leadership skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
- Experience as a teacher leader or instructional coach.
