Position: Travel Registered Nurse L&D Job

Overview

Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (L&D), Liberal, KS, United States. Travel – Temporary Assignment. Start date 07/27/2026 for 13 weeks. Shift: 3x12-hour days. Weekly pay: $2,257–$2,422 per week. Guaranteed hours: not guaranteed. This L&D-focused travel role includes postpartum, couplet care, newborn nursery, and OB post‑op responsibilities within a hospital setting. Active Kansas RN license with BLS, ACLS, and NRP (AHA) is required.

At least 3 years of RN experience in Labor & Delivery is expected. The position requires you to be over 45 miles from the assigned facility, with mileage documented on the submission packet. A drug screen will be conducted on‑site as part of compliance, and a DS is required for clearance.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care for laboring, delivering, postpartum, and OB post‑op patients; monitor maternal and fetal status, labor progress, and newborn well‑being
  • Administer medications and analgesia per orders; monitor for adverse effects; participate in anesthesia‑related care as needed
  • Document care and assessments in the electronic medical record; communicate with obstetric providers, midwives, and neonatal staff; participate in handoffs and rounds
  • Assist with postpartum and couplet care, newborn nursery responsibilities, lactation support, and discharge planning
  • Respond to obstetric emergencies, maintain patient safety, infection control, and quality of care standards
  • Support OB postoperative patients and coordinate care with other disciplines as part of the care team
Requirements
  • Active Registered Nurse license in Kansas
  • BLS, ACLS, and NRP (American Heart Association)
  • Minimum of 3 years RN experience in Labor & Delivery
  • Ability to work across L&D, postpartum, couplet care, newborn nursery, and OB post‑op settings
  • Must have completed at least 2 prior travel assignments; no first‑time travelers
  • Distance requirement: must be over 45 miles from the facility; mileage must be listed on submission packet
  • Must be able to pass on‑site drug screen and comply with documentation requirements
