Description:
As a member of Nursing Administration, the Emergency Department Nurse Manager, participates in developing, implementing and evaluating nursing policies/procedures. Utilizes leadership and management skills to support the vision, mission, and values of the hospital. Maintains open communication between nursing staff, physicians, patients, families and Administration. The Emergency Department Nurse Manager plans, directs, coordinates, and evaluates the delivery of nursing care for the designated unit on a 24 hours basis.
Organizes the patient care delivery system through scheduling, staffing, hiring, and firing. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or is a logical assignment to the position.
What You'll Do:
* Serve as a member of Nursing Administration, participate in development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing policies, procedures, and standards specific to the Emergency Department
* Plan, direct, coordinate, and evaluate the delivery of nursing care for the Emergency Department on a 24-hour basis
* Ensure compliance with EMTALA requirements, including medical examinations, stabilizing treatment, documentation, and appropriate transfers
* Oversees Emergency Department processes, including triage, length of stay, admission and discharge efficiency, and diversion management
* Maintain open communication among nursing staff, physicians, patients, families, and hospital administration
* Addresses and escalates operational, clinical, or patient care concerns appropriately to ensure resolution
Qualifications:
* Current license in the state of Kansas as a Registered Nurse
* ACLS, PALS, NRP, and TNCC
* BSN preferred or in process preferred
* 2 years of nursing management preferred
* 3 to 5 years clinical experience in his/her area as a high performer with self-motivation in working towards improving areas of his/her unit preferred###
