• Disassembles and assembles major machine components efficiently, correctly and safely with some technical assistance.
• Qualifies all parts for reusabilitywithsometechnicalassistance.
• Looks up and orders parts utilizing SIS, TMIwith little or no assistance.
• Uses Cat technical information, including: service manuals, operations manuals, SIS Web, TMI, SIMSI and STWto address technical issues.
• Writes detailed and accurate service reports for everycomponentrepair.
• Performs all required tasks in accordance with printed procedures.
• Assists other technicians as needed.
• Handles all customer inquiries in a prompt and professional manner.
• Adheres to all customer care standards.
• Actively cares and advocates safety at Western States. Adheresto all applicable safety policies, procedures and standards.
• May accomplish training and serve as a team member in support of Western States’ strategic programs, projects, and initiatives.
• Work within and promote corporate vision, mission, and values of the organization.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Increasing specialization andability torepair or recondition Caterpillar major components.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office recommended.
• Ability tolearn anduse computer systems (ET, STW, Parts Integration, SIS Web).
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others.
• Consistent attendance and timeliness.
• Ability to work overtime with little or no notice.

• Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Associate Degree from an accredited vocational school preferredorcomparableworkexperiencerequired.
• Two or threeyear’s minimum experience working on heavy equipment in a Caterpillar or similar environment with component rebuild experience preferred.
• Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write in English).

• Ability to stand for long periods of time along with walking, sitting, repetitively climbing stairs, reaching (including but not limited to above-shoulder reaching), repetitive bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, leaning and twisting.
• Ability to repeatedly lift up to 60lbs from the ground and place on a shelf/platform set up to 65 inches off the ground.
