Open Eye is seeking a Lead Software Engineer / Cloud Architect to join our growing team. We are looking for a highly experienced staff engineer who will take on a technical ownership role over our large‑scale, cloud‑based platform—the foundation on which our engineering team delivers features to customers worldwide.
In this role you will act as an architectural steward of our core cloud‑based system:
- Define and implement the technical roadmap to keep the platform stable, scalable, and efficient for years to come.
- Lead major feature or system initiatives from concept through delivery, ensuring technical integrity and alignment with business goals.
- Plan and lead modernization of legacy architectures—moving from monoliths to microservices and adopting cloud‑native patterns—without disrupting ongoing product delivery.
- Design frameworks, services, and infrastructure that accelerate revenue‑generating feature work for product development teams.
You will collaborate closely with engineering leads, product managers, and operational teams to align long‑term technical vision with evolving business needs.
Role And Responsibilities- Independently design and lead implementation of large‑scale projects through the complete software development lifecycle.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for your team, assisting with feature design, bug resolution, and architectural decisions.
- Architect and implement robust, reusable frameworks, components, and tools adopted across multiple engineering teams.
- Anticipate technical challenges in advance, shaping roadmaps and system designs that ensure sustainability and scalability.
- Collaborate with Product Management and other stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals.
- Model responsible, high‑impact use of AI by delivering demonstrably better software engineering outcomes.
- Provide mentorship to engineers at all levels—including Lead and other Staff Engineers.
- Drive company‑wide technical standards and promote best practices for code quality, testing, and maintainability.
- Actively participate in cross‑department technical councils, working groups, and strategic planning sessions.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences through design documents, presentations, and code reviews.
- Deliver impactful solutions that measurably increase team productivity, enhance platform capabilities, or improve product performance.

- Java, Spring, React, Type Script, MySQL, Crate
DB, Git, IntelliJ - AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 12+ years of professional software engineering experience, including proven success in lead and architectural roles.
- Deep experience designing and operating cloud architectures and infrastructure using AWS services.
- Substantial expertise with Java and the Spring Framework for building large‑scale, high‑performance systems.
- Exceptional skill in designing new systems (and enhancing legacy systems) to ensure long‑term stability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Strong experience in performance optimization, including profiling, tuning, and improving efficiency at scale.
- Significant exposure to big‑data challenges—designing systems capable of ingesting, processing, and storing massive volumes of data efficiently.
- Solid understanding of architectural design principles, scalability strategies, and data‑intensive system operations.
