Position Summary

VEC, Inc. is seeking a qualified and motivated EHS Coordinator to support construction activities on the Kimberly-Clark Project in Warren, Ohio. The EHS Coordinator will be responsible for promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with company, client, and regulatory safety requirements, and providing daily safety oversite for the project personnel and subcontractors.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary on-site safety representative for VEC, Inc.
  • Promote and reinforce a positive safety culture across all project activities.
  • Conduct daily site safety inspections/walks
  • Lead safety new hire orientation for new employees
  • Facilitate daily pre-task/JSA planning and toolbox talks.
  • Verify compliance with OSHA regulations, site-specific safety requirements, and VEC safety policies.
  • Assist supervisors and craft personnel with hazard identification and mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct incident investigations
  • Maintain project safety documentation and records
  • Coordinate closely with project management, field supervision, subcontractors, and client representatives.
  • Participate in client safety meetings and project coordination meetings.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of construction experience, but not required
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification, or working towards it
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations
  • Proficient in computer skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to walk jobsites for extended periods of time
  • ability to climb ladders, stairs, and access elevated work areas
  • ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times on site
