Position: Lifeguard - Logan Swim Club 2026
Description
Lifeguards will contribute to the vision, mission and values of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation by maintaining a safe aquatic environment for members and guests of the Jewish Community Center of Youngstown with standards of excellence.
Ensure the safety and protect the lives of each patron in the aquatic area at all times by enforcing all rules, policies and proceduresActively scan and maintain constant vigilance over aquatic areaRespond to emergencies and administer first aid as neededPresent a professional appearance (including wearing required uniform while on duty) and attitude at all times and maintain a high standard of customer serviceAccurately complete and submit all safety and maintenance records concerning the pool area and usage of the pool as outlined in the Aquatics ManualMaintain the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of the pool and surrounding areas by completing chemical tests and other duties as requestedKnow and understand all aquatic policies and procedures, including the emergency action planCommunicate and cooperate with colleagues as part of the Health & Wellness team, including attending and participating in staff meetings and professional development as neededInitiate communications with the aquatics supervisor as necessary concerning program concerns, personnel conflicts, and member concernsComplete all additional duties as assigned by supervisorBenefits include:

Requirements
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with attention to detail and the ability to work well as part of a team. Must be able to receive and maintain lifeguarding certifications from a nationally recognized program (including American Red Cross and YMCA). Candidate should have the ability to physically perform all necessary rescue skills as well as performing work which involves frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of heavy objects.
Must be willing to work indoors and outdoors as necessary and sit for extended periods of time while remaining alert.
