Take on a fulfilling role as an Elementary Special Education Teacher supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in an engaging K5 environment near Liberty, Missouri. You will play a key part in providing individualized instruction and behavioral support to a small, structured caseload, working alongside dedicated paraprofessionals and collaborative school staff. KeyQualifications:
- Valid Missouri Special Education Teaching Certification (or eligibility to obtain)
- Demonstrated experience working with students on the autism spectrum
- Proficiency in implementing research-based instructional strategies and assistive technology
- Excellent classroom management and collaborative teamwork abilities
- Capacity to adapt teaching methods to accommodate a wide range of learning needs
- Create and deliver programming tailored for students with ASD
- Develop, maintain, and monitor programming notebooks and IEPs
- Collect and analyze data to inform and refine instructional practices
- Utilize visual supports, schedules, and communication devices to enhance learning
- Employ functional behavioral assessments and implement behavior intervention plans
- Guide and supervise paraprofessionals within the ASD classroom
- Participate in professional development opportunities and integrate new skills into your teaching
- Actively engage with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality programming
Your caseload will consist of approximately 811 students, with support from 23 paraprofessionals to cultivate a well-structured and supportive class environment.
