STUDENT TEACHING in LPS

We welcome the opportunity to be considered by future teachers for their student teaching and internship placements.

• Candidates must submit a completed application and a formal placement request from the sponsoring college/university.
• A memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the student's university and Liberty Public School is required prior to student placement.
• Student teachers will be placed based on their university's recommendation, areas of potential certification, and their interests and passions for serving our students.
• In order to ensure the best placement, college expectations of the student teaching/internship experience will be needed.
• Student teachers are asked not to contact individual teachers or building administrators to obtain information regarding student teaching.

Since college students will be working directly with LPS students, an FBI background check will be required prior to beginning the assignment in our school(s). Arrangements for an FBI background check can be made through the placing college/university or through Mrs. Rollins, in Liberty Public Schools.

The student teaching experience is an unpaid position and student teachers are not employees of the district during the student teaching assignment.
