Electrical Estimator II

Position Summary

Bart’s Electric is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator II to join our preconstruction team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive cost estimates for commercial and industrial electrical projects. The Estimator II works independently on mid‑sized projects and supports senior estimators on larger, complex bids. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction documents, takeoffs, and subcontractor/vendor coordination.

• Review plans, specifications, and project documents to determine scope of work.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for electrical systems.
• Prepare cost estimates including labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
• Solicit and analyze vendor and subcontractor quotes.
• Identify scope gaps, value engineering opportunities, and cost risks.
• Attend pre‑bid meetings and site visits as needed.
• Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure accurate project handoff.
• Maintain estimating databases and historical cost data.
• Assist in bid leveling and final proposal preparation.

• 4+ years of electrical estimating or field electrical experience.
• Strong knowledge of commercial electrical construction.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Experience with estimating software (Accubid, Con Est, McCormick, Bluebeam, etc.).
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple bids under deadline.

• Journeyman Electrician background.
• Experience estimating projects $1M+.
• Experience in design‑build or negotiated work.
• Knowledge of NEC and local codes.
