Material Handler
Manage the Shipping, Receiving, and Material Handling Functions at LMV Automotive Systems.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Continue development and revisions of VSM (Value Stream Map) to identify opportunities for improvement in Material Flow.
2. Define and recalculate Kanban sizes for each component between Supermarkets and shop floor as required.
3. Monitor performance of Kanban levels and take pro-active actions to solve problems and mitigate risk attributable to these levels and the corresponding assembly cells.
4. Interact closely with Production, Engineering and Quality to effectively plan and execute Kanban requirements to support Plant requirements.
5. Coordinates and implements effective material handling techniques to assure material availability while achieving defined Kanban levels.
6. Cycle counts as required.
7. Responsible for shop floor communication systems execution.
8. Maintain WMS and Kanban functionality updates in ERP.
9. Responsible for mobile equipment in the Plant such as forklifts, tuggers, AMRs, etc.
10. Resolve technical issues, supervise, and validate the completion of deployed AMR missions throughout shift.
11. Present technical AMR mission results and provide recommendations for AMR route delivery optimization.
12. Approve changes in Kanban levels.
13. Conducts material handling and flow analysis; responsible for material flow within the plant, plant layouts, new equipment layout and warehousing requirements.
14. Conduct pre-shift meetings to review indicators, open issues and concerns as well as communicate quality alerts.
15. Develop Team Members through coaching and mentoring.
16. Establish and maintain effective communications with all departments.
17. Participate in manpower planning and recruiting.
18. Promote accountability through application of the progressive discipline policy.
19. Ensure training for Team Members as outlined in the training matrix.
20. Conduct accident / incident investigations.
21. Control Kanban cycles, coordinate and organize annual inventory counts for assigned area/division as required.
22. Responsible for the coordination of all engineering change activities on the shop floor impacting material flow.
23. Assure that 5S activities are conducted daily and necessary communication is in place for the handling of special projects or situations.
24. Assure that work instructions are available and current for all job positions.
25. Act as Hostler Driver performing duties of that role as needed.

Qualifications
These qualifications represent the minimum requirements of the position. Employees will be required to possess the ability and aptitudes to perform the duties proficiently.
Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor's degree and/or 6 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Thoroughly knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing, Inventory Management, Kanban, JIT and Logistics manufacturing high volume tangible goods.
• APICS certification desired.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Strong skills in Value Steam Mapping.
• Strong analytical skills, excellent at managing data at the detail level.
