The Finished Goods Inspection Assistant supports the Quality Assurance team by performing visual and basic functional inspections of finished products to ensure compliance with company quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. This is an entry-level position ideal for individuals seeking to begin a career in manufacturing quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Perform visual inspections of finished goods to identify defects, damage, or non-conformities
- Verify product appearance, labeling, packaging, and documentation accuracy
- Follow established inspection procedures, checklists, and quality standards
- Record inspection results accurately in quality logs or electronic systems
- Segregate non-conforming products and report issues to the Quality Supervisor
- Assist with rework, sorting, or containment activities when required
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant inspection area
- Comply with all safety, quality, and company policies
- Support audits, quality investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives as needed
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous manufacturing or quality inspection experience is a plus but not required
- Ability to read and understand basic work instructions and quality standards
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Attention to detail and strong observational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping
- Familiarity with quality inspection tools (calipers, gauges, rulers)
- Experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
- Understanding of basic quality concepts (defects, tolerances, inspections)
- Team-oriented attitude with good communication skills
Physical Requirements
- Manufacturing floor environment
- Standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 25–35 lbs
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
