Position Title:
Quality Supervisor – 1st Shift
Wage: Based on Experience
Shift: 1st
Hours: 6:00am - 4:30pm (Monday - Thursday)
The Quality Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily quality assurance and quality control activities within the production environment. This role ensures that products meet defined quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations while leading a team of quality technicians and inspectors. The Quality Supervisor drives continuous improvement initiatives, supports problem‑solving efforts, and promotes a culture of quality across the organization.
Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate daily quality inspection and testing activities
- Ensure compliance with company standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements
- Monitor production processes to verify adherence to quality standards
- Review and approve inspection results, non‑conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective actions
- Lead, train, and mentor quality technicians and inspectors
- Assign work schedules and ensure adequate coverage for all shifts
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and development
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Investigate quality issues and lead root cause analysis (RCA)
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality concerns
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen
- Maintain quality records, reports, and documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements
- Ensure proper implementation of quality management systems (QMS), such as ISO 9001
- Support internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings
- Analyze quality data, trends, and KPIs to identify improvement opportunities
- Ensure proper use and calibration of inspection tools and equipment
- Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions
- Address customer complaints and coordinate response efforts
- Participate in customer audits and quality reviews
- Work with suppliers to ensure incoming material quality and resolve supplier‑related issues
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred (equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
- 3‑5+ years of experience in quality assurance or manufacturing
- 1‑2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role preferred
- Strong understanding of quality systems and standards (ISO, GMP, etc.)
- Experience with root cause analysis and problem‑solving tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.)
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in quality tools such as SPC, inspection methods, and auditing
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
