Position Title: Senior Maintenance Tech
Wage: $35-$38/hour
Shift: 1st
Hours: 6:00am-4:30pm Monday-Thursday
QPS Employment Group is hiring a Senior Maintenance Tech for a company in Liberty, MO. This is a direct hire opportunity on 1st shift.
Senior Maintenance Tech Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Perform daily, preventive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and perform timely repairs to support production uptime
- Maintain accurate equipment maintenance logs, PM checklists, spare parts inventory, and workorder documentation
- Inspect building systems, including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, compressed air, and structural components
- Collaborate with Production Supervisors, Operators, and other Maintenance Technicians to resolve equipment issues
- Assist with coordinating and overseeing work performed by outside contractors and vendors
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA, company policies, and regulatory requirements
- Recommend improvements to processes, tools, and equipment to enhance efficiency and reliability
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, maintenance shops, and storage spaces
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to after-hours emergency repair needs
- Minimum 7+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or welding environment
- Strong troubleshooting skills with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Working knowledge of basic trades, including welding, equipment repair, carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical
- Ability to interpret technical documents such as schematics, drawings, manuals, and PM procedures
- Proficiency with computer-based maintenance systems (CMMS), Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Leadership qualities are a must
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and on-call shifts as required
- Preferred experience using CMMS or digital maintenance software
- Preferred welding, fabrication, and paint system experience
- Preferred OSHA 10 or relevant safety certifications
- Preferred Industrial electrical training or licensing (where applicable)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and working in tight spaces
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, including varying weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- High attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Professionalism and customer service mindset when interacting with operators, supervisors, and vendors
- Ability to manage time effectively and balance multiple tasks or work orders
