Youth Specialist

Clay County is seeking dependable and compassionate individuals to join our Juvenile Group Home team. The Youth Specialist provides
supervision, guidance, and support to youth residents
, helping them develop positive daily living, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills in a structured environment.

• Supervise residents and coordinate daily routines and activities.
• Provide positive guidance, structure, and leadership.
• Assist with meals, household responsibilities, and schoolwork.
• Transport residents to school, appointments, and scheduled activities.
• Administer medications according to established procedures.
• Complete shift notes, progress notes, point sheets, and other required documentation.
• Build positive relationships with residents and teach problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
• Participate in required meetings and training, including CPR and physical restraint techniques.
• Comply with PREA requirements and departmental policies.

Youth Specialist: High school diploma or equivalent.

Deputy Juvenile Officer: Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, or a related human services field.

• Valid driver’s license and liability insurance required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with youth, families, and team members.

Full-time and part-time opportunities may be available, with day and evening shifts based on availability.
