Position Title: Assistant Coach, Women’s Soccer

Department: Athletics

Reports To: Head Women’s Soccer Coach // Vice President for Athletics

Institution: William Jewell College

Classification: Part-Time

Position Summary

The part-time Women’s Soccer Assistant Coach helps in the organization, development, and administration of competitive NCAA Division II soccer program. This position supports student‑athlete success on the field, in the classroom, and in the community while upholding NCAA, Great Lakes Valley Conference, and institutional standards. The assistant coach will help cultivate a competitive, values‑driven environment aligned with the College’s mission, institutional priorities, and the Division II “Life in the Balance” philosophy.

Primary

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Assist with planning and conducting team practices, training sessions, and skill development
  • Support game‑day preparation, scouting, and coaching during competitions
  • Assist with recruiting prospective student‑athletes in compliance with NCAA Division II, GLVC, and institutional rules
  • Support academic success, student‑athlete well‑being, and personal development
  • Help with program operations, including travel, equipment, and scheduling as assigned
  • Promote a positive team culture emphasizing sportsmanship, accountability, and leadership
  • Represent the soccer program, Athletics Department and institution in a professional manner
  • Comply with all NCAA, GLVC, and institutional policies and procedures
Qualifications Required
  • Previous playing and/or coaching experience at the collegiate, club, or high school level
  • Strong knowledge of soccer fundamentals, tactics, and training methods
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as assigned

    Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Goalkeeper coaching experience
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Previous collegiate coaching experience
  • CPR/First Aid certification
