Typical Work

Activities:

• Provide juniors and seniors with classroom instruction, project-based learning and hands-on skills that would prepare students to be college and career ready in the Heavy Equipment & Diesel Technology Field.
• Communicate with parents, teachers, home school counselors and others involved in the education of the student
• Maintain discipline in the classroom and work sites
• Monitor students' academic progress including, but not limited to progress/marking period grades, attendance, hands-on performance skills
• Implement 504 plans and IEPs for students with diverse learning needs
• Keep current with changes and developments in the welding industries
• Other responsibilities as determined by the CTE Principal

Preferred Experience:

Teaching and work experience in heavy equipment operation, diesel technology maintenance and repair, landscape design and installation, and horticulture are preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills and work ethic.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have or be eligible for: NYS Heavy Equipment/Diesel 7-12 Certification
