Position Overview

TxDOT’s Liberty Area Office is looking for a Construction Recordkeeper I or II based in Liberty, TX. The role works closely with Construction Maintenance Inspectors to maintain records on roadway construction maintenance projects within the Liberty Maintenance Section. Minimum Salary: $40,918.00 per year. Maximum Salary: $71,055.00 per year. Pay Basis:
Yearly. FLSA Status:
Nonexempt.

Liberty, TX (Liberty Ae/Liberty Maint 209 LAYL DR, Liberty 77575). Travel:
Yes, 5 % of the time. Shift: Day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain construction project records and process related paperwork.
  • Review and modify contract documents to reflect changes in the original agreement.
  • Verify compliance with state and federal laws and determine payments due to contractors.
  • Coordinate with construction inspectors and contractors to ensure records accurately reflect changes and agreements.
  • Attend pre‑construction meetings to instruct contractor bookkeepers on record‑keeping procedures.
  • Monitor contractors’ compliance with federal requirements on equal employment opportunity and wages.
  • Monitor on‑the‑job training, DBO, and SBE programs and submit required monthly reports.
  • Prepare and submit monthly and final estimates, checking calculations against work logs and estimate forms.
  • Compose, review, and maintain correspondence, reports, supporting documents, and files.
  • Process change orders, supplemental agreements, and extra work orders.
  • Maintain a filing structure for each construction project within the assigned area.
  • Perform other job responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: High School Graduate or General Education Equivalent.
  • Experience:
    • Construction Recordkeeper I:
      No experience required.
    • Construction Recordkeeper II:
      One year of record‑keeping, bookkeeping, or related experience.
  • Licenses and

    Certifications:

    Valid driver’s license (requires driving a state vehicle).
  • Higher mathematics.
  • Governmental policies and procedures.

  • Analyzing issues, facts, and available information to develop logical solutions.
  • Performing calculations using algebra, trigonometry, and geometry.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

Sedentary work; lift up to 10 lbs at a time and occasionally carry files or small tools.
