Position Purpose
Runs the systems the process cannot live without, including steam, cooling, compressed air, process water and effluent treatment.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and monitor boilers, cooling towers, chillers, air compressors, nitrogen supply and process water treatment.
- Operate the wastewater treatment system and maintain discharge within permit limits.
- Perform utility water chemistry testing and chemical dosing for boiler and cooling systems.
- Maintain compliance records required by environmental permits and coordinate with the Environmental Compliance Specialist.
- Monitor utility consumption and support energy efficiency efforts.
- Perform first line maintenance on utility equipment and support planned outages.
- Respond to utility upsets that threaten process stability.
- Three or more years operating industrial utilities or wastewater systems.
- Texas boiler operator or wastewater operator license, or willingness to obtain within twelve months.
- Working knowledge of water chemistry and chemical handling.
- Willingness to work a twelve hour rotating shift.
- Both boiler and wastewater licensing.
- Industrial pretreatment and biological treatment experience.
