Straightener Operator - Mill

Maintains straightness and size tolerance of pipe.

• Operate machine that bends metal structural pipe to a predetermined straightener specification.
• Make adjustments via control system.
• Monitors conformance to engineering parameters.
• Set ups as required for various diameters of pipe.
• Must be able to use a tape measure and micrometers.
• Must be able to read work orders.
• Must be mechanically inclined.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
• Maintain a clean work station.
• Must have safety as a priority.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education:

High School or equivalent.

Years of

Experience:

2‑3 years in an industrial environment.

  read and comprehend instructions; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; present information in one‑on‑one and small group settings.

  perform arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) in all units of measure; compute rates, ratios, percentages; interpret bar graphs; apply basic algebra and geometry.
• Reasoning Ability: apply common sense to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions; solve problems involving multiple concrete variables.
• Must be computer literate and able to work with Word, Excel, and HP programs such as e‑mail and ERP systems.

• Forklift certified
• Crane certified

The noise level is usually moderate.

Must be able to stand, walk, and use arms and hands to load and unload material for extended periods; must lift up to 50 lbs.; must tolerate outdoor conditions and variable climates.
