Controller, Accounting, Accounting Manager

Flexible: 1–2 days/week WFH

A growing real estate and property management firm is seeking a Controller to lead accounting and financial operations across a multi-entity portfolio. This is a hands‑on role with direct exposure to ownership and a visible seat at the table.

The position is best suited for someone who understands property‑level accounting and wants ownership of the full accounting function in a practical, operational environment.

• Lead full‑cycle accounting across multiple entities, including month‑end close and financial reporting
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Oversee general accounting operations and accounts payable
• Maintain property‑level accounting, including rent rolls and expense allocations
• Support acquisitions, dispositions, and capital tracking
• Deliver reporting packages with variance analysis and operational insights
• Partner with operations and property teams to ensure accurate financial data
• Strengthen processes, controls, and reporting consistency
• Manage and develop accounting staff

• 10+ years of accounting experience
• Real estate or property accounting experience required
• Strong financial reporting and close experience
• Prior leadership or team management experience
• Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance
• CPA preferred
• Comfortable working in a hands‑on, owner‑led environment
• $135-150K + bonus
